On the afternoon of August 4, Wang Qiyang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Xiangyang Municipal Party Committee, met with Gu Yifeng, Party Secretary of CRRC Urban Transportation Co., Ltd., and his delegation in Wuhan. Long Xiaohong, Vice Mayor of Xiangyang, and Huang Jin, Secretary-General to the Municipal Party Secretary, accompanied the meeting.

During the meeting, Wang Qiyang stated that the 12th Party Congress of Hubei Province made strategic arrangements to vigorously develop the Xiangyang metropolitan area, assigning Xiangyang the major historical mission of building a provincial sub-central city leading the development of the Han River Basin, radiating the Nanyang-Xiangyang Basin, constructing a core hub connecting new corridors between central and western China, and driving the development of the “Xiang-Shi-Sui-Shen” city cluster. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Xiangyang has vigorously implemented the industrial doubling project. As the largest industry in Xiangyang, the rapid development of the automobile and auto parts industry cannot be achieved without the integrated and mutually reinforcing development of transportation, industry, and urbanization as an important pathway and means.
Wang Qiyang fully affirmed CRRC Urban Transportation’s efforts and achievements in developing the emergency equipment industry in Yicheng and revitalizing historically struggling local enterprises. He expressed hope that CRRC Urban Transportation would continue to deepen its presence in Xiangyang, focus on emerging business models and new technologies, and enhance its organizational capacity to support the strategic development of new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicle industries. He suggested that Dongjin New District of Xiangyang, identified by the provincial Party committee and government as the new city center of Xiangyang, should be the preferred choice for CRRC Urban Transportation when establishing its Hubei (Central China) industrial headquarters and investing in new industries. The local government will actively provide industrial services and government support.

Gu Yifeng reported to Wang Qiyang on the current industrial development of CRRC Urban Transportation in Xiangyang, Suizhou, Tianmen, and Xianning in Hubei Province. He also stated that Xiangyang serves as an important base and growth hub for CRRC Urban Transportation’s industrial development in Central China, with clear geographical advantages, well-developed industrial support, abundant human resources, and efficient policy services. According to CRRC Urban Transportation’s 14th Five-Year Plan, the manufacturing scale in Hubei is expected to increase from the current 4 billion yuan to over 10 billion yuan. To achieve this, it is necessary to innovate management models, intensify investment in research and development, channel construction, and digital production, and establish regional industrial headquarters and platforms. He expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the Xiangyang Municipal Party Committee and government, and stated that the company will promptly initiate the planning of its Xiangyang headquarters construction and strive to commence implementation as soon as possible.
